Investing in Foreign Currency

Dinars to dollars

There are several different types of investments. Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, gold and real estate are some of the more common investments. Buying foreign currency is another type of investment, and is becoming more and more popular.

Currency exchange rates vary from day to day. Investors who like to follow trends in the currency market often invest in foreign currency, hoping that the exchange rates will change in their favor. Buying foreign currency, usually in the form of coins, to collect is also a popular hobby. Many coin collectors enjoy having pieces in their collections from all over the world.

One type of foreign currency that is being traded in todays international market is the iraqi dinar. The dinar replaced the Indian rupee, and was brought into circulation in 1932. The dinar banknotes that were issued from 1990 to 2003 were printed with an image of Saddam Hussein, and are no longer of any monetary value. Many investors of the dinars are former military personnel. Dinars are available in different denominations, and there is even a 10,000 dinar note. It was issued in 2002, to be used for large and “inter bank” transactions. More info like this.
