Roofing is a big job requiring expertise. Before hiring a roofer, ask them the following questions to make sure they are legitimate and experienced to handle your roofing job.
What is your office address? This question tells you how legit they are. If the roofer doesn’t have an office or operates out of a basement, it could be a bad sign for you.
What is your contractors’ license number? Roofing contractors are required to be licensed. If they don’t have a contractor license they cant pull the permit for your roofing job which is required.
Do you have workers comp insurance? This is super important. If they don’t and are injured during your roofing job, either you or your homeowner’s insurance will be liable.
Do you collect money upfront? Legit contractors usually don’t collect upfront. If they do, this could be a bad sign for you.
Do you have a satisfaction guarantee? If they do a poor job or something is wrong, you don’t want to be stuck still having to pay or being sent to collections. If they offer a satisfaction guarantee, you know if there’s an issue that can’t be resolved, you have assurance you can get your money back.
