Frameless glass doors are a beautiful addition to any home. How frameless glass doors work may be confusing, so keep reading to learn what you need to know about frameless glass doors.
Frameless glass doors are strong and durable to withstand harsh weather conditions such as rain and heavy wind. Frameless glass is made with an outer and an inner glass panel.
In between the glass panels is the sealant (a UV-protected, translucent h-channel weatherstrip is popular) so there is a very tight seal on the inside and outside of the panels. This means there is zero opportunity for any air, wind, or moisture to come in between panels.
When it comes to frameless glass doors, everything is custom made to fit within your size opening. this means you don’t have to worry about buying doors that won’t fit. Most panels are about 33-34 inches wide.
As far as materials, frameless glass doors use temperated and laminated glass. Two pieces of glass about a quarter-inch thick each are used to create a total thickness of just over half an inch.
