How Much Auto Insurance Do I Need?
The purpose of all insurance is to protect against risk. Risk is universal in life, and is it especially present on the road.
You may be an outstanding driver. You might use your signals, travel at reasonable speeds, and take every possible precaution. Unfortunately, none of that changes the fact that there are other people on the road who are not as conscientious as you are.
In addition to the problems of other drivers, there are numerous things that can go wrong with your car, other people’s cars, the road itself, the weather, and so much more. In other words, the risk is inevitable, and if you’re not holding an auto insurance policy that’s substantial enough, you might as well not have any insurance at all.
If you think of the cost of injury and property damage to one or more drivers and cars, the average policy simply will not cover it. That’s why it’s so important to not just have insurance but to have enough insurance.
